Acre Farm is a small, family-run farm cared for by Alexander and Emily, supported by their family. Nestled in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, Acre Farm is a working farm with deep roots and a modern outlook. Surrounded by rolling fields, wildflower meadows, and big open skies, our land is both a place of work and a home — to us, our animals, and the wildlife that thrives here.

We manage our fields with care and respect for the environment, balancing traditional farming with sustainable practices. From rotating crops and maintaining healthy soils to protecting hedgerows and encouraging pollinators, every acre is nurtured with the future in mind.

Our pastures are home to Hereford cattle, and our arable fields grow wheat, barley, and herbal leys, supplying our own bakery, Wildfarmed, and supporting British agriculture.

Over the past few years, we’ve been reshaping Acre Farm through the principles of agroecology, reimagining what a small farm can be in the modern world. Our vision is simple: to grow food that nourishes people and community, not just markets; to work with nature, not against it; and to create a farm that is both productive and regenerative.

Every crop we grow reflects our belief that farms should feed people fairly, restore the landscape, and sustain future generations.

OUR VINEYARD….

In May 2024, we planted a 10-hectare vineyard here at Acre Farm, set on a beautiful south-facing slope, an ideal position for capturing warmth and sunlight throughout the growing season. We’re proud to be contract growing grapes for Haltingly Valley, with plantings that include Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Précoce, and Pinot Meunier, all destined for high-quality English sparkling wine.

England has become one of the most exciting cool-climate wine regions in the world. Our long summer days, chalky soils, and mild temperatures create the perfect conditions for slow, balanced ripening, producing grapes with natural freshness and finesse.

Diversifying into viticulture is part of our wider vision for Acre Farm: to build a resilient, mixed farm that produces a variety of foods from the same landscape. The vineyard complements our arable, livestock, and ecological work, helping us make the most of our land while contributing to the growing story of English wine.
